These are fashionable animal characters created based on favorite animals of D.U.R.A. They normally strut around in designers clothing straight from the runways and love fashion as much as real girls in real world do.
D.U.R.A created them in paper dolls version as a reminiscent of her childhood favorite toys. They are made from recycle card board and painted in acrylic. These illustrated characters are also turned into merchandises such as necklaces, tote bags and t-shirts.
“Welcome to The Fashion-na-nimal Darlings’ Kingdom, where fashion and magic exist abundantly.
Long ago, in a faraway land, lived the darling princesses with true fashion sense. They loved playing dress up and spent most of their days trying on beautiful dresses, pretty skirts, colourful tops and bottoms and accessorizing.
One day, whilst trying on new shoes, walking up and down a shrubby path like they would on a runway, the princesses stumbled upon a hidden castle. Together, they wandered around the castle, without knowing that it
belonged to an evil warlock. Suddenly, they found a door, and upon opening it, discovered that it was filled with many exquisite clothing they had never seen before. The princesses were so excited that they didn't realise the evil warlock had returned to her castle.
They heard a noise and turned to find that the door had disappeared and in it's place stood the evil warlock's laughing face. In a rage, the evil warlock cast a spell on these princesses for invading her sacred castle and touching her precious belongings.
She cursed them into half-animals and cast them off of their birth land. Now, what the evil warlock did not know was that each princess, upon leaving, brought with them magical items that could grant them anything they wanted,
except to change the evil warlock's curse.
And so these princesses, having been cast away from their own land,
continued their search for the most trendiest fashion in a new place they created together, called The Fashion-na-nimal Kingdom."
